This tour explores the picturesque mountain landscapes surrounding Issyk-Kul, from nomadic yurt stays and traditional eagle hunting shows to scenic hikes in Barskoon Gorge and Jeti-Oguz. You will visit Karakol, once the gateway to the natural wonders of the Tian Shan, relax on the golden beaches of the lake, and conclude your journey in Bishkek, experiencing the unique blend of mountain and seaside landscapes at 1,600 meters above sea level.
Day 1
Manas Airport – Bishkek – Ala-Archa (50 km)
Arrival at Manas International Airport, where you will be met by your guide and transferred to the capital city, Bishkek.
Hotel check-in and breakfast. Time to rest after your flight.
Later, transfer to Ala-Archa National Park, a beautiful alpine gorge in the Tian Shan mountains. Enjoy an easy walk along mountain trails surrounded by dramatic peaks, pine forests, and a rushing river. Fresh mountain air and stunning scenery make this a perfect introduction to Kyrgyzstan.
Return to Bishkek. Free evening to relax, explore the city center, or enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 2
Bishkek – Bokonbaevo – Skazka Canyon – Issyk-Kul (325 km)
After breakfast, transfer to the village of Bokonbaevo on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul, the second-largest alpine lake in the world.
Here you will attend a traditional eagle hunting show. Learn about the ancient nomadic tradition of hunting with golden eagles and see these majestic birds up close. You will also witness a yurt assembly demonstration and learn about nomadic life. Lunch featuring national cuisine will be provided.
Continue to Skazka Canyon (Fairy Tale Canyon), famous for its colorful red rock formations shaped by wind and time. Enjoy a light walk through the canyon and admire the фантастical landscapes.
Accommodation in a yurt camp near Issyk-Kul. Swimming in the lake (weather permitting), free time, and dinner in a traditional atmosphere.
Day 3
Barskoon – Jeti-Oguz – Karakol (175 km)
Breakfast and transfer to Barskoon Gorge. Hike to the famous Barskoon waterfalls (lunch boxes provided). The trail passes through forested slopes and alpine meadows with beautiful mountain views.
Continue to Jeti-Oguz Gorge, known for its striking red rock formations called “Seven Bulls” and “Broken Heart.” Short trekking to a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the valley.
Transfer to Karakol. Hotel check-in. Dinner at a local café followed by a folklore show introducing Kyrgyz music and traditions.
Day 4-5
Karakol – Cholpon-Ata (190 km)
After breakfast, transfer to the resort town of Cholpon-Ata.
Lunch at a café and accommodation at a resort hotel.
Enjoy two days of leisure on the shores of Issyk-Kul: beach relaxation, swimming, lakeside walks, and optional water activities. Free time to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of the region.
Day 6
Cholpon-Ata – Bishkek (325 km)
Breakfast and transfer back to Bishkek. Hotel check-in.
City tour of Bishkek, including the main square, monuments, parks, and an introduction to the history and modern life of the capital. Free time for shopping or exploring local markets.
Day 7
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to Manas International Airport (40 km) for departure.
End of the tour with unforgettable memories of Kyrgyzstan’s mountains, lakes, and nomadic culture.
